Every renovation is different, and timelines can vary widely - from around 3 months for smaller projects to 12 months or more for larger, more complex builds. That’s why we take the time to walk you through what’s realistic for your specific scope.Before work begins, you’ll receive a detailed schedule outlining the expected stages of your renovation. And while occasional delays can happen (especially when dealing with older homes), your dedicated project manager - who oversees a maximum of 5 projects at a time - will keep things moving smoothly and keep you informed every step of the way.As Michelle from Norwood shared: "We had peace of mind knowing exactly what was happening and when."
It’s not always possible but if it is, we will carefully explain the realities of living in through a renovation. One of our priorities as a builder is to provide you with a great experience and it becomes very difficult to do this if you’re constantly disrupted by noise, dust and are out of routine. The client builder relationship is paramount for a successful major home renovation, and if it is too risky from a safety or relational point of view, we will advise accordingly. It is for this reason that we always strongly advise you move out during the project

But the reality of renovating is that surprises can occur and this can result in a variation to our agreed scope of work. In any case, our in-house carpentry team can address them immediately, keeping your project on track without expensive delays.
Variations are not a scary word, they are just mis-understood as they are associated with more cost to the client. The reality is that variations are any changes to the original agreement. This can be cost, time, start dates, finish dates or any terms, agreed finishes and scope of work that form part of the contract. It is important to understand what they are and how they work so you are not afraid of them. We build complex and difficult projects with major renovations. There are a lot of unknowns behind walls and under floors and although we spend a lot of time understanding your unique home and what challenges may come up during the project we have never completed a job without a variation. We have a detailed process for how we handle them and we always recommend a contingency to cover you for change of mind and unexpected issues during construction.
