Our clients in Birdwood were looking at updating their bathroom and knew they wanted that next level of luxury added to this space.
They currently had a typical small pokey bathroom, separate toilet and a powder room in a maze of walls and wasted space. Coming from an engineering background and having a good spatial awareness Phil had designed his own room to a very high standard. He had sourced all his selections and tiles and knew exactly how he wanted them installed.
His plans were precise and detailed. They were completed by his design team from his own business and were more than enough for us to work with.
We knew that the detail and design on this one is what would matter the most. Knowing that Phil was after something special we suggested a ceiling feature that added another level of luxury to the room. A floating ceiling with LED lighting and a square set wall detail where the wall tiles disappear above the ceiling. Phil loved it and it was added to the scope of work.
Due to the nature of the design and Phils expectations, we ran every detail by him for approval including exact placement of the fixtures and fittings and even silicone finishes to the frameless shower screen.
The room was meant to represent a living space where you could spend time and relax. The feature bath was chosen as the centerpiece and the Western Red Cedar windows added class and warmth to frame the focal point. Every detail was thoughtful and there was an expectation for excellence.
This project was a renovation of the master bathroom and so the client still had access to the ensuite so lack of a bathroom didn’t present a problem. The time restraint on the project was the lead up to christmas. Phil and his wife were hosting a christmas lunch and the whole family was going to be there. They needed the renovation complete and all the building material and mess cleaned up ready to go.
We worked around the clock to achieve this and it was a credit to the professional subcontractors for their efforts and diligence to deliver this project on Christmas eve. Just in time.
The result of this project speaks for itself. The space is so inviting and the design works so well it just calls you in when you walk by.
