ZJ Building follows a proven and well organised plan to ensure your home renovation or extension project goes smoothly without any unwanted stresses and cost blow outs. We have a unique process for design and quoting which allows us to guarantee our pricing and ensure you get the renovation you deserve at the price you can afford. 

Did you know that according to Alex Alexandreu from the Association of Professional Builders, upwards of 80% of building designs don’t make it to construction? This is because during the design process, an accurate estimate has not been done by a professional builder to help determine construction costs of the design. This is where working in conjunction with a Professional Renovation and Addition Builder becomes so valuable.

Our Easy 8-step Process

1. Site Meeting & Introduction

Your first experience with us will be a friendly introduction in the comfort of your own home. 

We structure these meetings to ensure you get all the critical information you need. We discuss your project and ideas as well as how our design process ensures you get your renovation built within your budget and on time.

2. Initial Budget estimate

Before you are ready to make any sort of financial commitment, we will present you with an initial estimate based on our experience and your unique requirements.

We will also present you with a proposal for all your preliminary documentation and a clear process to move forward.

3. Concept Design Drawings

This is your first look at your new renovation plans.

We will prepare your first concept designs consisting of digital and scale plans of your proposed new renovation or addition. Here you have ample opportunity to make changes and add your own flare if anything has been missed. We encourage as many changes as you think you need to get to the final design.

4. Construction Drawings and DA Approval

Upon approval of the final concept design, we add more detail and engage further consultants to put together your construction ready drawings.

We can now submit to council for development approval. Costings and pricing is updated throughout this stage so you are always in the loop with how your design choices are impacting your budget.

5. Fixed Price Contract

A fixed price construction proposal will be presented and upon approval by you to proceed, we sign a building contract and we progress into following the construction schedule.

6. Construction Begins

Now for the fun part! Construction begins and we work closely with you so you can enjoy a seamless process from start to finish.

Our rigorous project management system allows us to be in constant communication with you throughout the build and meet every scheduled milestone. Our system really does allow you to be in control of your project, from budget to communicating with your project manager, it’s all at your fingertips!

7. Practical Completion

This stage is where we get to show you through your amazing new home!

We will walk you through your new renovation and hand over the keys. We carry out quality assurance checklists throughout the build to ensure nothing is missed and the finishes are of a high standard but if, however, anything gets missed, you have the opportunity to let us know and we will rectify it as soon as possible.

8. Keep In Touch
