Kitchen and Laundry, Rose Park
Bruce, Marcelle and their beloved miniature schnauzer, Tristan, live in a beautiful 1950’s character home in Rose Park. A home that boasts stunningly preserved fifties architecture and original bathrooms, decorated throughout with personality.
They’ve always loved their home and location, but after 18 years, Bruce and Marcelle came to the conclusion that the time had come to put their own mark on the home. They wanted to refresh their kitchen and laundry to best suit their lifestyle and represent their personalities.
The first thing they knew was that they didn’t want any old kitchen. If they were going to renovate, it was essential that the character of their home flowed throughout and a space would be created that they’d adore using for many years to come. To ensure this, they first engaged with Tania from TK Design for her expertise in kitchens and interior design.
When the time came to choose their builder, Bruce and Marcelle weren’t sure where to look and asked Tania for some recommendations. “She thought you would be a good fit for us. Boy, you certainly were!” This is what led to the partnership with ZJ Building.
We had a phone call with Bruce and Marcelle so we could get to know each other and the project, then we proceeded with a site visit to discuss and measure the specifics. We were able to put together a specification and scope of work that captured all the details of their project. Along with TK Designs plans and finishes schedule, this gave them the confidence that they knew what they were getting.
The biggest concern for Bruce and Marcelle was finding a builder with a talented and trusted cabinet maker that would meet the quality they wanted and do the job justice.
“It soon became clear to us that you set very high standards for yourself and for all that do work for your company. There’s a real sense of teamwork at ZJ Building.”
Bruce and Marcelle now have a stunning kitchen and laundry that perfectly captures the home’s retro style and their fun and adventurous personalities. “Everyone that comes in goes ‘Wow!’. It has really lifted the house and fits in perfectly. It’s been a pleasure.”
